How it Works

1.   Give us a call to come look at your project and plans   We will look over your project, listen to your ideas, and take a few notes. If you have architectural plans, we will go back to the office and produce an estimate predicated on our walk through and your plans.   If you don’t yet have plans, and your project needs plans, we can suggest the architect or designer we feel best fits your project.   If you don’t want to hire a designer or architect until you know roughly what the project will cost, we can provide a price estimation predicated on your description of the areas you intend to add or renovate and  the square footage involved, and compare your job to similar projects we have completed. We will produce that estimation on site if possible; if not we’ll cull the necessary information and get you a target price within 24 hours.  There is a base fee of $200 for this service.

2.   We present and explain the estimate.
We will attempt to estimate every aspect of the project. At your kitchen table we’ll discuss any questions about design considerations, cost concerns, and our procedures and scheduling. Along with the estimate, I’ll leave you a copy of our standard contract. Then we go away and let you ruminate.   You may call later and want to amend the scope of the project. Call us. We will make the wished for adjustments in the estimate. If necessary we’ll come have another look see.

3. You choose us
We email you a contract agreement, and answer any questions you might have about the project or the contract.
We get together and sign the contract and you receive a Project Starter kit which includes:
 > Insurance docs on our company
 > A shopping list for your project’s surface finishes and component parts
 > A list of federal and state tax credits applicable to your project
 > 1st draft of the project schedule
 > Your requirements of us – your preferred start/stop work times, days you don’t want us there, parking location issues, ‘no  tread’ zones, and any vendors you’re partial to.
